Yesterday, October 23, a meeting was held at the training theater of the State Institute of Arts and Culture of Uzbekistan, organized by the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture. Leaders and students of cultural and arts institutions of Tashkent, as well as cultural departments of the regions of Uzbekistan, were invited to the meeting.

A working meeting with representatives of cultural institutions of Uzbekistan was held on the topic of creating a board of trustees.

It is worth noting that on August 17 of the current year, the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan approved the model regulation “On the Board of Trustees of Cultural and Art Institutions.” As is well known, today the institutions of art and culture of Uzbekistan receive funding from the state. However, the cultural institutions lack the funds that come from the state for the development of new directions, projects, and merchandising. So, to help finance these cultural institutions, boards of trustees will be created that can become a new tool for attracting additional resources from non-state sources.

Representatives of the Art and Culture Development Foundation under the Ministry of Culture held a working meeting at which they made a presentation and discussed all issues related to the creation of a board of trustees in the country's cultural institutions.

The Board of Trustees is a self-governing body of cultural and arts institutions, which can help to ensure their activities. The creation of boards of trustees is one of the ways to attract partners and conduct special campaigns so that cultural institutions can collect extra-budgetary, charitable and investment funds. The presence of the Board of Trustees in the activities of cultural institutions will allow involving people from the business sector to participate in financing in matters related to the development of the sphere of culture and art.
