Seattle Park was built by American and Uzbekistanian volunteers in 1973, and opened in Tashkent after the signing of twin agreements between the two cities (Tashkent and Seattle). The monument dedicated to this event suffered badly and demanded restoration over the past years: local vandals had chipped hands off the monument, and its paint faded.
But most regretful is the loss of its unique decoration in the form of tiles made by children from the United States and Uzbekistan 45 years ago in honor of the parks opening in the sister cities - Seattle and Tashkent.
The Art and Culture Development Foundation has worked on the restoration of the park. Restorer Pavel Makarov, invited to work by the Foundation, returned the monument to its former appearance.
